Man Rescued from Sand Hopper 75 Feet High in Baltimore County

Fire crews successfully rescued a man trapped in a sand hopper at Atlantic Concrete in Baltimore County on Friday afternoon.

Baltimore County Fire Department responded to a rescue operation on January 30 after a man became trapped in a sand hopper approximately 75 feet above the ground.

The incident took place around 1:00 p.m. at Atlantic Concrete MD, located at 10823 Beaver Dam Road. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the man conscious but buried up to his waist in sand.

Rescue teams worked diligently and managed to free the man by around 3:24 p.m. He was then safely brought down from the tower using a technical descent, where emergency medical services were waiting to assist.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported following the incident. The rescue operation involved multiple agencies, including Baltimore County Career and Volunteer Technical Rescue Specialists, Maryland State Police Aviation, the Shock Trauma Center GO-Team, and the Baltimore City Fire Department Technical Rescue Teams.
