Cager brings a wealth of experience to the role, having held senior advisory positions in both the Obama and Biden administrations, where she focused on enhancing domestic policy, national operations, and external collaborations.

Mayor Scott expressed confidence in Cager's capabilities, stating, "Chezia brings an impressive wealth of government experience, first-hand knowledge of Baltimore, and a comprehensive understanding of how to develop and maintain beneficial partnerships with federal, state, and local governments for more than fifteen years."

In her new role, Cager will oversee legislative affairs, communications, and constituent services within the Mayor's Office. She will also be responsible for developing and implementing Baltimore's legislative and policy agendas at both the state and federal levels.
