MTA Bus Crash in Baltimore Leaves Eight Injured

Early Thursday morning, a serious accident involving an MTA bus and two cars occurred in the Mid-Town Belvedere area of Baltimore, resulting in eight individuals being hospitalized.

The incident took place around 1:15 a.m. at the intersection of 100 East Preston Street and St. Paul Street, as reported by Baltimore City Fire officials.

Rescue teams were dispatched to the scene, where a Shock Trauma unit was necessary to extract a person from one of the vehicles that became trapped beneath the bus.

The injured parties were transported to a nearby hospital, with their conditions ranging from minor to serious, according to fire department sources.

This incident is not isolated, as Baltimore has seen several bus-related accidents in recent years. Notably, a crash in September 2025 involved a vehicle colliding with a Charm City Circulator bus, which subsequently impacted multiple parked cars. One of these cars was pushed into an outdoor dining area barricade.

In another incident in April 2025, a Johns Hopkins shuttle bus crashed into a building in Charles Village, injuring nine individuals, including the driver and several passengers.

Concerns about pedestrian safety have been heightened in light of previous incidents, such as a tragic November 2023 accident where an MTA bus struck a light pole, resulting in the death of a scooter rider.
