Police Seek Public's Assistance in Identifying Suspects of Upton Playground Shooting

BALTIMORE, Md. — Authorities in Baltimore are appealing to the community for assistance in identifying the individuals responsible for a double shooting that occurred on a playground near Furman Templeton Elementary School.

The incident took place on Wednesday night at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Dolphin Street, where gunfire erupted during a drive-by shooting. An 11-year-old boy, Tristen Goode-Jordan, was struck multiple times, alongside a 26-year-old man who police believe was the primary target.

Both victims were transported to a local hospital to receive medical treatment. According to family members, Tristen was shot seven times, suffering severe injuries to his abdomen, spine, and lungs, with a bullet remaining lodged in his foot.

In an effort to advance the investigation, police released surveillance footage showing several suspects exiting a white vehicle, dressed in black and brandishing firearms before opening fire toward the playground.

Detectives are urging anyone who may recognize the individuals depicted in the video to come forward with information.

The shooting has raised alarm about the increasing violence involving minors in Baltimore. In the past two weeks alone, six children have been shot in the city. Just a day after Tristen’s shooting, a 14-year-old was injured in a separate incident in southeast Baltimore.

Linda Harris, a local grandmother, expressed her sorrow over the violence affecting children. “It hurts me because our kids are supposed to be our future,” she said, emphasizing the innocence of the young victims.

As the community grapples with this troubling trend, police continue their investigation into the recent spate of shootings, hoping to bring those responsible to justice.
