Project Rampart Achieves Record Graduation and GPA Rates for Baltimore Student-Athletes

Under Armour's Project Rampart is making a significant impact on the lives of Baltimore City high school students by providing them with access to sports, mentorship, and essential resources. Launched in 2017, the program aims to enhance student-athletes' experiences both on and off the field.

The results from 2026 are impressive: participants in Project Rampart achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.01, which is substantially higher than the 2.18 average GPA of non-athletes in Baltimore City High Schools. Additionally, the program reported a graduation rate of 97.5% and an attendance rate of 87.7%, both figures exceeding the citywide averages by more than a dozen percentage points.

These achievements highlight the program's success in fostering engagement and academic success among students involved in sports. Project Rampart currently supports 23 of the 40 public high schools in Baltimore and serves 414 teams each year. Through this initiative, Under Armour provides uniforms and resources to over 4,000 student-athletes, ensuring they have what they need to compete effectively.

On June 6, 2026, Under Armour celebrated these milestones at its global headquarters, where more than 800 student-athletes gathered for the annual Project Rampart Student-Athlete Celebration. The event featured partnerships with MedStar Health and Baltimore City Public Schools, offering free sports physicals, athletic equipment, and health resources to help students prepare for the upcoming school year.

Program leaders emphasize the broader benefits of sports participation, stating that access to athletics fosters confidence, leadership, and community involvement. By removing barriers to participation, Project Rampart aims to ensure that all students can thrive both academically and personally.

Initially focused on Baltimore, Project Rampart has expanded its reach to include schools in Oakland, California, and Washington, D.C., serving over 50,000 student-athletes across these communities. Looking forward, Under Armour plans to continue investing in year-round programming, competitive experiences, and leadership development opportunities for student-athletes.
