School Bus Crashes into Building After Vehicle Crosses Path in Parkville

PARKVILLE, Md. — Baltimore County Police Department's Crash Team is investigating a collision that occurred on Tuesday afternoon involving a school bus and a commercial building.

On July 21, at approximately 2:25 p.m., a Baltimore County Public School bus, which was carrying students from the Maryland School for the Blind, crashed into a building located in the 8700 block of Harford Road.

At the time of the incident, the bus had three students and two adults on board. The driver of the bus, along with one student and another adult, were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries. Two additional students and eight others were assessed at the scene but opted not to seek further medical attention.

According to fire officials, the crash involved at least three vehicles, including the school bus. Preliminary investigations revealed that a 2017 Ford Focus was traveling southbound on Harford Road when it crossed into the northbound lane, directly into the path of the bus. A 2014 Nissan Altima was also struck by the Ford Focus during the incident.

The bus ultimately came to a halt after colliding with the commercial building.

The Baltimore County Police Department's Crash Team continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
