Montgomery County Fire and Rescue officials have launched a search operation for a male swimmer who went missing in the Potomac River at Great Falls Park.
According to a statement posted on X, the individual was part of a group when he entered the water and did not resurface.
At approximately 6:15 AM today, the Swift Water Team units were dispatched to the scene to begin the search efforts. The teams are currently engaged in active search operations in the area.
This incident comes just three weeks after the body of Nazir Bell, a missing Towson University student, was recovered from the same river.
