Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued July 4 at 7:12PM EDT until July 4 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Baltimore MD/Washington DC

At 712 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Ferndale, or
over Baltimore-Washington Airport, moving north at 10 mph.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches to
fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as damage
homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by downed
trees. Localized power outages are possible. Unsecured
light objects may become projectiles.

Locations impacted include...
Baltimore, Severn, Elkridge, Riviera Beach, Baltimore-Washington
Airport, Sparrows Point, Back River, Glen Burnie, Dundalk,
Catonsville, Woodlawn, Severna Park, Odenton, Milford Mill, Lochearn,
Pasadena, Arbutus, Lake Shore, Ferndale, and Brooklyn Park.

What to do

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
