The Baltimore Police Department has launched a homicide investigation following a fatal shooting that occurred in the Southeast District.
Officers responded to a report of gunfire in the 3400 block of Leverton Street shortly after midnight on June 23. Upon their arrival at approximately 12:14 a.m., they discovered an unidentified male suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was quickly transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding this incident.
