ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Recovery efforts are underway in Annapolis after severe storms swept through the area late Friday, causing significant damage and power outages.
As of noon on Saturday, nearly 800 residents are still experiencing power outages, according to Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE). The neighborhoods of West Annapolis and Admiral Heights have been particularly hard hit.
In the aftermath of the storms, two families have been displaced due to trees falling onto their homes. Fortunately, officials report that there have been no injuries associated with the incidents.
The Department of Public Works (DPW) crews have completed a 12-hour overnight shift and will continue their cleanup efforts in coordination with BGE. Residents are encouraged to safely move downed branches to the roadway, where DPW crews can collect them.
For those seeking assistance or information related to storm recovery, the Annapolis Call Center is available at 410-260-2211 for non-emergency inquiries.
