BALTIMORE, MD — In a shocking incident, two stillborn fetuses were found on a Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) bus in East Baltimore on Saturday.
The first fetus was discovered by the bus driver shortly before 12:40 p.m. in the 2500 block of Kirk Avenue. The driver alerted authorities after noticing the fetus on a seat, according to a spokesperson from the Baltimore City police.
Shortly after the initial discovery, a second fetus was also located on the bus. The MTA police, along with officers from the Eastern District and homicide detectives, responded to the scene. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has taken custody of the fetuses for further examination.
In a report by WBAL, a passenger named Eric Carver recounted his experience after boarding the bus following a long work shift. He noticed one of the fetuses covered by a bonnet on the seat and immediately informed the driver, who then contacted the police.
Carver expressed his shock upon realizing what he had seen, stating that he felt compelled to take a closer look before alerting the authorities.
As the investigation continues, police have not released additional information regarding the circumstances surrounding this disturbing find.
