BALTIMORE — The Walter P. Carter Pool has been closed for repairs due to vandalism, which was discovered on Juneteenth.
Officials from the Department of Recreation and Parks reported that glass was found in both pools, necessitating immediate action.
To ensure safety, the pools must be drained, cleaned, vacuumed, and then refilled, a process expected to take a full day. They are anticipated to reopen the following day.
This incident follows a similar occurrence earlier this month at Patterson Park Pool, which also had to close temporarily due to vandalism that occurred overnight.
