A woman from Maryland's Eastern Shore has been charged following an incident in which she allegedly threatened employees at a Taco Bell with a gun. The altercation took place on June 18 at the fast-food restaurant located in Chester.
According to the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office, 30-year-old Ashley Andrews became agitated over the delay in receiving her food. Reports indicate that she verbally confronted the staff and displayed a firearm by lifting her shirt to show the weapon.
Authorities reviewed both surveillance footage from the restaurant and video captured by an employee. The footage confirmed that Andrews exhibited the gun while yelling at the workers and even challenged them to confront her in the parking lot.
As a result of her actions, Andrews has been charged with several offenses, including Second-Degree Assault, illegal possession of a handgun, disturbing the peace, and reckless endangerment. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.
Andrews has since been released on a $5,000 unsecured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 23.
