HIRING RANGE: $53,409 - $64,407, Annually

Hours: Full Time, 40 hours a week. (Must be available for some evening & weekend hours)

JOB SUMMARY

The Office of City Council President is seeking a dynamic, community-centered professional to join our fast-paced, mission-driven team as a Community Impact Manager. This role is critical in advancing the agency’s top priorities: improving city services, passing impactful legislation, and empowering communities. Reporting to the Director of Community Impact, the Community Impact Manager will be the first point of contact for many stakeholders. They will be responsible for organizing engagements for the Council President in community. They will work with residents, community leaders, and any relevant stakeholders to seek resident input on initiatives or legislation pursued by the Council President. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Serve as a liaison between the City Council President’s Office and neighborhoods by attending community association meetings and stakeholder gatherings.
  • Share updates, listen to concerns, and gather feedback on planned strategies to inform citywide initiatives.
  • Organize town halls/listening sessions and other forums for community input in association with the offices legislative, policy, and engagement priorities. Work with residents, community leaders, and any relevant stakeholders to seek community input on initiatives or legislation pursued by the Council President.
  • Lead and coordinate special projects that address systemic challenges and improve community outcomes.
  • Collaborate with agencies and partners to develop innovative solutions to serve residents and make government more accessible.
  • Maintain a strong pulse on community needs and identify opportunities to cut red tape and build cross-sector partnerships.
  • Execute constituent services case work.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or GED

LICENSE, REGISTRATION AND CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Bilingual preferred, with fluency in English and at least one other language commonly spoken such as Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, French, or Korean.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in customer service, sales, or community-facing roles
  • Strong verbal communication skills, particularly over the phone
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making abilities
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and responsiveness
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment

BACKGROUND CHECK

 Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint screening and must be successfully completed.

PROBATION

All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a 6-month mandatory probation.
