Duties
Definition of ResponsibilityUnder general supervision, performs routine subprofessional engineering, drafting, design, and computational work.
Essential Functions
Accepts applications to the Development Review Committee (DRC). Organizes and maintains the Accela system, manages physical files and digitizes DRC development applications.
Compiles development data. Maintains development tracking databases.
Generates DRC agenda and issues notification to participants.
Works in the finalization of Right-of-Way (Ra0) and Utility (UA0) agreements for transmission to DPWT.
Supports the Closeout Coordinator in closing out development projects.
This requires a working knowledge of the Phase III close-out process.
Performs routine drafting and computational work.
Lays out and inks construction drawings and plats.
Performs elementary design work in the preparation of plans and specifications for public works projects.
Operates computers and peripheral equipment to perform GIS work and computer aided drafting and design of engineering drawings, plans, and projects.
Interprets construction plans and deeds.
Compiles information for preparation and computation of right-of-way plats.
Draws right-of-way plats.
Plots templates on cross sections to determine right-of-way, earth quantities, and drainage traps.
Prepares legal metes and bounds descriptions, prepares drawings and reports for use in condemnation cases.
Designs and computes super-elevations and vertical grades.
Computes engineering costs estimates. Participates in road studies and field investigations.
Computes data used in determining control points and direction of survey parties. Interprets and plots data obtained by field survey parties.
Assists engineers in survey issues.
Plots property outlines from drawings and deed descriptions.
Performs title searches and prepares legal metes and bounds descriptions.
Prepares maps, drawings, and signs.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Possession of a high school diploma or an appropriate equivalent
Plus
Four years' subprofessional engineering experience.
(Additional qualifying education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of four years for the required experience.)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Entry Level)
Knowledge of drafting materials, instruments, and techniques. Knowledge of mathematics, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and the use of logarithms. Knowledge of the use of the Double Meridian Distance Method.
Ability to perform drafting, computational, and design work. Ability to solve drafting and computational problems. Ability to follow oral and written directions. Ability to operate computers and peripheral equipment used to perform drafting and design work.
Proof of Licenses, Certifications and Education
Applicants are required to submit proof of Licenses, Certifications and Education beyond high school to meet the required and preferred qualifications of the position. Diplomas or transcripts must show the applicant’s major field of study. Copies and unofficial transcripts are acceptable.
