MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

 Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
 
Experience: Five years of experience in construction, facilities maintenance, grounds, or skilled trades work. One year of this experience must have been in a lead worker, or crew leader capacity. **This experience must include at least two years of maintenance work involving interacting with the public in large facilities or maintaining outdoor grounds.

Selective Qualifications are utilized when the position requires specific or additional bona fide occupational qualifications (i.e., knowledge, skills, or abilities).

 1.  Work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
 
 2.  U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as defined under the Minimum Qualifications may be substituted for the required education and experience on a year-for-year basis.
Qualifications1.  Employees applying for the Facility Maintenance Supervisor I classification may be required to possess and maintain a valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) valid in the State of Maryland, depending on the type of equipment operated, that may be required for continued employment.  This includes obtaining and maintaining a valid US DOT Medical Card (or MVA-issued waiver) every two years.  Note:  Employees must meet all Department of Budget and Management policies required for operation of State-owned vehicles.

2.  Candidates and promotional employees hired into the Facility Maintenance Supervisor I classification may be required to satisfy the employing administration's training and certification program requirements during the probationary period.

3.  Employees may be required to satisfy the employing administration's training and certification program requirements to obtain and maintain permanent status in this classification.

4.  Employees seeking transfer to another administration may be required to satisfy that administration's training and certification program requirements.

5.  Maryland Aviation Administration employees assigned to the BWI Airport must obtain an MAA Airfield Operators Permit in accordance with the Code of Maryland Regulations 11.03.01.04, Control of Vehicular Traffic on the Air Operations Area, prior to permanent appointment.
