Job Title: Order Picker
Job Description
This role focuses on accurately picking and staging orders using a sit-down forklift and reach truck in a warehouse environment. You locate products from invoice sheets, pull and stack items on a forklift, and support loading trailers and packing items for shipping. The position requires continuous lifting of 50-pound items and occasional work in cooler and freezer areas, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
Operate a sit-down forklift and reach truck safely and efficiently to pick and move orders throughout the warehouse.Read and interpret invoice sheets to locate, identify, and pull the correct items for each order.Stack and organize picked items on the forklift in a stable and secure manner to prevent damage.Continuously lift and handle 50-pound items, such as bags of flour and sugar, throughout the shift.Load trailers with completed orders, ensuring items are properly arranged and secured for transport.Pack items for shipping, verifying that all products match the invoice and meet quality standards before dispatch.Work occasionally in cooler and freezer areas to pick and stage temperature-sensitive orders, following safety and handling guidelines.Maintain high levels of accuracy, understanding that errors on an invoice are treated as complete order failures.Strive to achieve strong pick rates by working with pride, initiative, and self-motivation while maintaining quality and safety.Support a small warehouse team by communicating effectively, assisting coworkers as needed, and contributing to a positive, community-focused culture.Follow all warehouse safety procedures, including proper equipment use, lifting techniques, and housekeeping standards.Participate in training to learn how to invoice and close out orders, taking on additional responsibilities as skills develop.Essential Skills
Proven experience operating a sit-down forklift in a warehouse or similar environment.Experience using a reach truck and stand-up riding pallet jack for material handling and order picking.Experience in warehouse operations, including material handling and order picking.Ability to continuously lift and move 50-pound items safely throughout the workday.Comfort working in cold environments, including occasional work in coolers and freezers.Strong accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to follow invoice sheets precisely.Self-motivated and independent work style, with the initiative to maintain a strong pick rate.Competitive mindset and pride in performance, aiming to achieve top productivity while maintaining quality.Ability to read and follow written instructions and invoices clearly and consistently.Reliability to work Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Work Environment
The role is based in a warehouse that distributes bakery-related commodities such as flour, sugar, food coloring, frosting, and similar products. You work on a small crew of approximately 7–8 people on the warehouse floor, fostering a community-based and relaxed environment with no micromanaging. The shift runs Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. You regularly operate equipment including sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, and stand-up riding pallet jacks. The work involves continuous lifting of 50-pound items and occasional assignments in coolers and freezers, so comfort with cold temperatures is important. The atmosphere is more chill and slower paced compared to operations with aggressive pick-rate expectations, while still valuing accuracy, safety, and steady productivity.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
