Duties
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Possession of a Maryland Professional Engineer license, in the appropriate option, is required. Evidence of license must be presented at time of appointment.
Experience: Three (3) years of experience managing highway engineering projects as a licensed professional engineer. Two (2) years of the required experience must have involved the supervision of employees or a design team of engineers.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Extensive experience in highway engineering design and project management including; the development and review of highway plans, specifications and estimates, and coordination for permitting and procurement; and
- Two years of experience working in the Federal Government.

Qualifications
1. An applicant's current license as a Professional Engineer in a state with comparable requirements acceptable to the Maryland State Board for Professional Engineers, in the appropriate option for which application is made, will be accepted but the applicant must obtain a Maryland Professional Engineer license within twelve (12) months of appointment. Evidence of out of state license must be presented at time of appointment. Please include your Professional Engineering license number, issue date and expiration date on your application.2. Employees in this classification are assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland. Applicants must list their license number and expiration date the application.
