Job Description Summary
Provides moderately complex technical support for hardware, software, and conference rooms to the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Collaborates with campus IT teams to deliver reliable technology solutions that support the university's teaching, research, and administrative missions.Primary Duties
1. Provides technical support and IT services to faculty, staff, and students, including diagnostic resolution and follow-through.
2. Installs, configures, repairs, and maintains desktop and laptop computers, mobile devices, printers, and other peripheral equipment.
3. Troubleshoots software, network, and account issues while ensuring compliance with university IT policies and security standards.
4. Provides support and ensures conference rooms and instructional (teaching) lab audio and visual equipment are functioning normally
5. Manages asset lifecycles, including inventory updates, equipment deployment via Jamf and Intune, warranty claims, and asset disposal.
6. Maintains and distributes reference manuals and technical training guides.
7. Conducts moderately complex information technology briefings in a group setting.

Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE: Two years with the types of hardware and software to be supported, one year of which included user support, user training, and/or programming.
OTHER:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
General knowledge of two applicable software products; of applicable computers and peripherals. Skill in configuring computer hardware and software; to analytically design program logic or solve technical problems; in operating supported computers and peripherals. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to work effectively with clients.
OTHER:
Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
