Position: Laboratory Associate / Technician


Location: Sparks, MD


Duration: 12+ Months


Work days/hours: Tuesday – Friday / 10 hours a day. Flexible start time, 7–8 am. Onsite daily.

Job Description: The Associate is responsible for applying basic scientific principles to routine laboratory work and for gaining experience in the application and interpretation of department procedures. Works as a member of the ID/AST Quality Control team to perform benchtop testing of primarily Phoenix system disposables including panels, broths, and indicators. Other testing may involve Crystal, MicroCount, and/or “RMT” product lines. Other lab duties as assigned, including management of product retentions, streaking of microbial culture plates used in daily testing, and pH testing.


Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Microbiology, or a related field.


Experience: No experience required with a Bachelor’s degree. One to two years of related experience desirable.
