Duties
Examples of Essential Duties
- Assists clinicians in the direct care of patients and in conducting physical examinations either in health centers or in the home
- Monitors, documents, and reports on the condition of patients.
- Takes and records pre-examination information from patients including vital signs, height and weight measurements, and medical histories.
- Collects, prepares, and tests various laboratory specimens. Performs venipuncture, hearing and vision screening, and associated clinical procedures.
- Prepares, sets up, and closes out examination rooms.
- Sets up, maintains, cleans, and sterilizes medical instruments and equipment.
- Maintains and distributes inventories of medical and office supplies
- Assists in the preparation of maintenance of medical records, files, and reports.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Possession of a high school diploma or an appropriate equivalent
plus
At least two years' experience, under supervision, rendering direct medical patient care.
(Additional qualifying education in nursing or a related field may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.)
Licenses and Certificates
Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant by the Maryland Board of Nursing is required at the time of appointment. Possession of a valid driver's license equivalent to a noncommercial, class C Maryland driver's license is required at the time of appointment.
Proof of Licenses, Certifications and EducationApplicants are required to submit proof of licenses, certifications and education beyond high school to meet the required and preferred qualifications of the position. Diplomas or transcript must show the applicant's major field of study. Copies and unofficial transcripts are acceptable. Proof of licenses, certifications, and/or education must be submitted with each application.
Proof of Degree Equivalency
Applicants who have obtained a degree from outside the United States of America are required to submit degree equivalence documentation from World Education Services, Inc.(www.WES.org)
