The Protective Services Officer is responsible for patrolling JHMI campus via foot, mobile unit or bicycle to protect against illegal activities, theft, fire, vandalism, hazardous conditions, infringements, etc.

Education
Work requires a comprehensive knowledge of security functions as would normally be acquired by significant experience in a security operation preferably with completion of a High School degree or equivalent. Requires acceptable completion of basic security officer training. Assignment to the Communications Center requires successful completion of 911 and Communications dispatch training.
Requirements
Requires current certification in use of Corporate Security Services self defense equipment. Valid drivers license with less than 5 points. Valid Guard Card 21 yeard of age High School Diploma or GED
Work Experience
The candidate must have one (1) year of security experience in the Protective Services Officer program at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions or be a law enforcement officer who has graduated from an accredited law enforcement training academy. Must be at least 21 years of age.

Salary Range: Minimum 17.11 per hour - Maximum 28.26 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
