Job Summary:
Support the efforts of the protein purification team projects, which include SARS-CoV-2, HIV, VZV, EBV, HA, PIV3, RSV, HMPV, and VLP. Pack and qualify columns, analyze results, and write methods using Unicorn on AKTA AVANT systems.
Essential Functions:
Support protein purification team projects, including SARS-CoV-2, HIV, VZV, EBV, HA, PIV3, RSV, HMPV, and VLP.Pack and qualify columns, analyze results, and write methods using Unicorn on Cytiva AKTA AVANT systems.Understand chromatography matrices such as IEX, SEC, HIC, Affinity, and Mixed-Mode.Perform buffer preparation, SDS-PAGE, Western Blots, BCA, and other protein quantification assays independently.Maintain accurate documentation.Analyze data with appropriate software and prepare reports in slide format using PowerPoint.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Accurate data documentation and analysis.Flexibility in time management.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams. Attention to detail is desirable.Education, Experience, Licenses & Certifications:
Bachelor\'s degree in biological sciences, molecular biology, immunology, or equivalent industry experience.1-3 years of hands-on industry experience with protein characterization and laboratory work.Physical Requirements:
Mobility & Dexterity:Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during experiments or at workbenches.Fine motor skills for handling small instruments and samples.Ability to bend, reach, squat, or climb small ladders/steps.Lifting and Carrying:Ability to lift and carry up to 5-10 lbs. (e.g., supplies, lab equipment).Some roles may require pushing/pulling carts or equipment.The annual base salary ranges from $60,100 to $75,100, with actual pay depending on experience, skills, and location.
