Working under general direction, the position is responsible for the financial management, accounting, reporting, and compliance of federal, state, private, and foundation grants and contracts. This position ensures grant expenditures are accurately recorded, reconciled, and reported in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200), sponsor requirements, and organizational policies.
The Senior Accountant also serves as a key liaison between Finance and program leadership, providing financial oversight throughout the grant lifecycle, including award budgeting, monitoring, invoicing, reporting, and closeout. This role supports audits and contributes to continuous improvement of grant accounting processes and internal controls.
