St. Elizabeth School is a nonpublic, special education school serving students grades 1 – 12, ages 6- 21. The School is seeking a Classroom Assistant to join our dynamic team. St. Elizabeth School employees enjoy a healthy work/life balance and a supportive, collaborative work setting.
The starting pay for Classroom Assistants with a (Bachelor’s degree) $20/hourly or $35,250 yearly, (Associate’s degree) between $28,200-$24,900 yearly, (non-degreed) between $26,400-$28,200 yearly. Classroom Assistants have guaranteed hours and are paid for snow days, school holidays, winter and spring break, and additional other non-working days during the 11-month school year.
May serve as a teaching assistant, program assistant, and/or one-to-one assistant
FUNCTION
Assists with
classroom preparation, organization and instruction
data collection and record keeping
escort and monitor students during the change of class
behavior management and student support throughout the school day
Attend and participate in general staff meetings, weekly team meetings, conferences and in-services.
Work with students requiring individual and/or small group attention
Work as a team player to create a positive learning atmosphere.
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma Required. Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
Some experience with special populations preferred
Successful completion of a drug screening and Criminal Background Check
Valid driver’s license with willingness to drive own vehicle or school vehicle for school business.
