Job Description Summary & Additional Information
The Graduate Assistant for Finance and Administration will support the School of Public Health’s Finance and Administration Team with their daily operations. This position will be responsible for:
- Managing the shared Finance email and calendar
- Collecting, compiling, and organizing data
- Researching and finalizing procurement requests
- Assisting with the daily business operations
- Providing support to other SPH units as necessary
- Other duties as assigned
Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, time management, and communication (both oral and written) skills are essential as well as a strong commitment to customer service. Must be detail-oriented, disciplined, trustworthy, and have excellent judgment.
Education:
This position is only available to current University of Maryland, College Park graduate students
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong communication skills, written and oral
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
Preferences:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Accounting, or a related field
- Experience in creating and maintaining databases
- Experience with account reconciliation
- Knowledge of University accounting

Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a registered graduate student in good standing enrolled in a degree program at the University of Maryland and must be making satisfactory progress toward the degree.
Graduate Assistant I is for master’s students.
