DutiesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience:
Five (5) years of experience in the repair, maintenance, installation, inspection, testing or operation of either: electrical and HVAC systems; plumbing, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems; fuel pumps and dispensing systems; electro-mechanical electronic systems; or escalator/elevator systems.
SUBSTITUTION INFORMATION:
1. Additional education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at a rate of thirty credit hours for each year of the required experience for up to three years of the experience. For every thirty credit hours, at least six credit hours must have been in electrical or mechanical engineering courses.
- Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.
- SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Employees may be exposed to a variety of hazards such as toxic materials and fumes, asbestos, flammable or combustible agents, requiring the use of appropriate safety equipment.
2. Employees are subject to be on call 24 hours a day and will be required to maintain a reliable communication link for the purpose of emergency call back requirements
QualificationsEmployees in this classification will be required to possess a Class A Commercial Driver's License permit at the time of employment and possess a Commercial Driver's License valid in the State Of Maryland, prior to the end of their probationary period.
