DutiesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: 
Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate and satisfactory completion of a program in a formal vocational or trade school or other formal training in one or more of the following fields: High-voltage Electrical power and related Control systems; Electronic Communications systems; Railroad Signaling and Train Control Systems, Electronic Fare Collection Systems, Railcar Electronic Systems, Railcar Mechanic Systems or other complex electro-mechanical or electronic systems.
Experience: 
Five (5) years of experience in one of the fields listed above.
SUBSTITUTION INFORMATION:
1. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and processes, overseeing or coordinating unit operations, or functioning as a staff assistant on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

1. The Supervisor of Service and Inspection is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Employees may be assigned to work various shifts with various days off.

2. Employees are required to maintain a reliable communication link (telephone or beeper) for the purpose of emergency call-back requirements.

3. Candidates will be subject to pre-employment drug testing in accordance with Code of Federal Regulations 49, Federal Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol Testing Protocols, and the Federal Transit Administration Alcohol Testing Rules.

4. Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Federal Regulations 49, Federal Department of Transportation Drug Alcohol Testing Protocols, and Federal Transit Administration Alcohol Testing Rules.

QualificationsEmployees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
