Position SummaryProvides instruction to students by following lesson plans and instructional materials, using techniques that meet the needs of all students. Creates an environment conducive to intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development, and supervises students in various school settings and activities, following required procedures and practices.

CompensationAssociate or non‑Degree: $112.50 full day / $56.25 half dayBachelor’s Degree or Higher: $125 full day / $62.50 half dayTeacher Assistant (All levels): $100 full day / $50 half dayLong‑Term Assignment & Extended Assignment: $155 full day / $77.50 half dayTeacher Assistant (Long‑Term): $110 full day / $55 half dayLong‑Term assignment temp substitute works for one teacher/position for at least 11 consecutive daysResponsibilitiesFollow lesson plans, assignments, and instructional materials.Maintain order and discipline in the classroom, taking all necessary safety precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.Create a classroom environment that promotes student involvement in the learning process.Enable each student to achieve learning objectives.Monitor and evaluate student performance.Perform other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.Minimum Qualifications48 college credit hours from a regionally accredited college or university.No experience required.Ability to effectively communicate with diverse communities and develop outreach strategies to encourage parental involvement in student learning.Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse parents/guardians to support a child’s education.Ability to employ a variety of teaching styles to respond to the needs of diverse learners.Demonstrated proficiency with business technology applications (e.g., video/web conferencing, Microsoft Office Suite).Licenses and CertificationsEmployee must retain active licenses, certifications, and enrollment as a condition of employment.Physical DemandsStanding: between 1/3 and 2/3 percent of the timeWalking: between 1/3 and 2/3 percent of the timeSitting: between 1/3 and 2/3 percent of the timeKeyboarding: between 1/3 and 2/3 percent of the timeTalking: between 1/3 and 2/3 percent of the timeHearing: between 1/3 and 2/3 percent of the timeAs required by the duties and responsibilities of the position.Work EnvironmentOffice, school, or similar indoor environment: over 2/3 percent of the timeNoise Level: Moderate between 1/3 and 2/3 percent of the timeWeight & Force: None
