Step into a hands-on role where your TIG welding expertise directly supports complex industrial construction projects across the Baltimore region. As a TIG Welder with TAI SCI's Mechanical Services group, you'll work with stainless and carbon-steel piping, perform precision welds in multiple positions, and take ownership of fitting, layout, and fabrication tasks. This position offers the chance to work independently and as part of a skilled team, tackling diverse challenges from blueprint interpretation to operating metal-forming and material-handling equipment. Here's a glimpse into your day to day:Weld pipe in a variety of positions: horizontal, vertical, overheadWeld high pressure pipe, steam line or gas line, or process pipeFit his/her own pipeRead and interpret blueprints/engineering drawingsPerform layout, cutting, and welding of plate and pipeWork independently or as part of a team with no supervision and make sound decisions and solve technical problemsOperate various metal forming and cutting machines such as Rollers, Shears, Iron Worker, Brakes, Drill Presses, and Saws.Rigging and Operation of lifting and material handling equipment such as Overhead Cranes, Gantries, and Forklifts.Work in diversified and complex situations. Solutions to problems will require the use of independent judgment following company policies and procedures.Intimately familiar with Welding Safety and OSHA requirements.Perform other duties as required.

You'll be a perfect fit if you have:Minimum of 3-5 years of experience performing TIG Welding processes.6G Certification is strongly preferred. Must pass 6G pipe welding testAWS and ASME certifications are preferred, however not a requirement. Candidates will be tested on ASME piping procedures during interview process.Preferably have experience with either high pressure pipe, steam line or gas line, or process pipe weldingKnowledgeable on gasses and what types of filler metals can be used on a project.Must know how to adjust, troubleshoot, and operate all types of welding machines.Must be able to weld a variety of metals, primarily Stainless and Carbon Steel. Aluminum experience is a plus.OSHA 10 certification is required or ability to obtain certification within first 30 days of employment.Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record.Ability to travel and work in MD/PA/DE and occasionally other states as needed.

Physical Requirements:Must be able to remain in a stationary position as necessary to complete assigned tasks.The person in this position needs to frequently move about client's facilities and offices to access equipment and complete tasks.Consistently ascend and descend portable and fixed ladders, scaffolding and other equipment used to reach equipment at various levels of height some of which maybe in excess of 25 feet in a safe manner.Must be able to ascend and descend a large quantity of stairways at any given time.Frequently move tools and equipment weighing up to 50lbs across client facilities as needed to complete tasks.Occasionally lift and move equipment in excess of 100lbs in a safe manner.Must be able to work in outdoor weather conditions as needed.
