A firefighter from the Baltimore City Fire Department suffered a minor injury while combating a two-alarm fire in northeast Baltimore on Sunday evening, officials reported.

The incident occurred around 5:00 p.m. in the 1100 block of Cedarcroft Road, where crews were dispatched following reports of a dwelling fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a two-story brick residence with smoke billowing from the front and flames actively burning at the rear of the structure. The fire has since been brought under control and extinguished.

The injured firefighter was taken to a local hospital for treatment, though details about their condition have not been disclosed.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
