Howard County Police are actively seeking Darwin Carcamo-Santiago, 24, in connection with the murder of his girlfriend, Esmeralda Perez-Mendez, 35, whose body was discovered in his apartment on Sunday.
Authorities were alerted to the situation on the 9000 block of Watchlight Court in Columbia's Long Reach village after an acquaintance of Perez-Mendez found her unresponsive in Carcamo-Santiago's bedroom. Preliminary investigations suggest that she may have been killed late Saturday night or early Sunday morning.
In light of these developments, police have issued an arrest warrant for Carcamo-Santiago, charging him with first- and second-degree murder. Officials believe he may have left the area, prompting a search for his whereabouts.
Investigators are urging anyone with information regarding Carcamo-Santiago's location to reach out to them at 410-313-STOP or via email at [email protected].
