Six young men were injured in a shooting incident that occurred on Sunday evening in South Baltimore, as confirmed by Baltimore Police Commissioner Richard Worley.
The police responded to reports of gunfire around 9:45 p.m. in the 2600 block of Hollins Ferry Road. Initially, two victims were found at the scene, and shortly after, another individual was discovered running towards a nearby firehouse with gunshot wounds. Three additional victims later arrived at a local hospital.
The victims, all aged between 17 and 21, were reportedly gathered in a group when a vehicle approached. According to Commissioner Worley, two suspects exited the vehicle and began firing indiscriminately at the group.
“They pulled up to the corner, got out, and just opened fire randomly at the victims,” Worley stated. “The suspects then returned to their vehicle and fled the scene.”
One of the victims sustained very serious injuries and was undergoing surgery, but all six individuals are expected to survive their injuries.
In response to the shooting, police closed off several streets in the area as they conducted their investigation. As of now, no descriptions of the suspects have been released, and authorities have not determined whether the shooting was a random act or targeted.

As of this year, Baltimore has recorded 175 non-fatal shootings, which matches the total for the same period last year.
