Duties
Under general supervision, performs comprehensive clerical work in support of a County program or agency.- Assists in the hiring of election judges and schedule their training.
- Assists in proofreading processed batches of registration.
- Prioritizes data processing tasks to assure timely completion in accordance with office policies and procedures.
- Responsible for voter registrations applications.
- Assists with special projects including – mass mailings, petitions, redistricting, verifications, voter education, canvass election, packing judge supplies and surveys.
- Maintains and secures files daily.
- Assists with the preparation and the conduct of elections to meet all deadlines to include but not limited to: processing voter registration, provisional ballots, record retention, reports, certificates and other information in accordance with Local, State and Federal laws.
- Operates office machinery, photocopiers, fax machines, and calculators.
- Updates and maintains filing systems, lists, log books and rosters.
- Answers routine inquiries from the public, or directs inquiries to proper agency.
- Collects and compiles technical data and prepares summary statistics.
- Performs occasional light typing or word processing.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Possession of a high school diploma or an appropriate high school equivalencyplus
one year's general clerical experience.
(Additional experience as described in the essential duties may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education. Additional education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in an elections office.
