Transdev and Maryland Transit Collaborate to Aid Hospital Workers

Transdev North America has joined forces with the Maryland Transportation Association (MTA) to facilitate transportation for essential workers at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC). This initiative aims to address the transportation challenges faced by hospital staff amid reduced public transport services.

To implement this service, Transdev has designated various pickup locations across the Baltimore area, including schools, churches, and government buildings, functioning as makeshift "park 'n rides" for shuttle services.

Donald Scruggs, chief of mobility field operations for Baltimore MTA, emphasized the importance of supporting all hospital staff, highlighting that essential roles extend beyond doctors and nurses to include cafeteria workers, imaging technicians, administrative personnel, janitorial staff, pharmacy employees, and housekeeping teams. He noted the critical role these individuals play in maintaining the hospital's operations.

In response to the need for continued transportation solutions, Transdev remains committed to providing essential services to the communities it serves, recognizing the vital role of healthcare workers during these unprecedented times.
